?Always a deliciously honest experience when you are in the area. I even accept a drive of about 200km for a roll with the best crust. ?? Tasty, hearty of the best quality. Unfortunately the current situation breaks For many restaurateurs a bit of morality, but that doesn't affect the quality and taste. Worth a visit every time ?

Pork Janes has been on my to eat list for a long time. For a long time I struggled with myself as to whether it was really good at all or whether it was more of an old tourist hotspot resting on its old good times. I had ordered the Jägerschnitzel as bread with pork and mushrooms. There was also delicious fried potatoes in bacon and a cookie as a gift. I only got the cookie because I ordered via Lieferando and the prices are a little higher. The big cookie is a nice touch, but my bread, especially the meat, didn't convince me. It was a bit too dry for my taste and I generally didn't like the sauce either. But for a woman it is a huge portion and I could only eat half of it all at once.

Very friendly treatment. Fast service. Traditional German cuisine. Well-conditioned premises with tables both inside and outside. Staff wear COVID masks. At the entrance, antiseptic hand gel and enter with a mask. Then when you eat you take it off. A place without a doubt to repeat.

Wow.... Awesome schweinshaxe, potatoes and sauerkraut!! The service was impeccable and the beer very refreshing! Thanks for this delicious meal

Wonderful pork sandwich with or without kraut. The meat was juicy and they added some of the crunchy skin that was cooked just right to each sandwich as standard procedure. Most places I've tried in Germany serve skin that's been charred black on request only...yuck. Guess I'll need to come back. 10/10

Was there several times, but now the quality has decreased a lot. You save at the wrong end. Meat old and dry. Cheap rolls, was our impression. At noon the shop was empty and says it all

The inn is really very stylish. No cheap decoration, but the colors were very much very good looking matched. From our point of view, a meeting here is absolutely recommendable. The waiters are always very sociable and extremely reliable. I thoroughly enjoy this every time I visit, and it has never happened to me here that something is not warm on the table. The selection of drinks also leaves nothing to be desired.

Nice place but with a terrible attitude towards customers. The food is very tasty. The staff is extremely rude!

It was ok Operating a limited menu due to coronovirus so just had pork in roll Not sure what all the reviews about crispy skin reference as we found zero?

Schweine Janes Altstadt is a restaurant specializing in German gastronomy and beer. It's a small restaurant which is very frequented by tourists from 6 p.m., places are very limited and you have to be patient. The reception and service are very fast because of the rush. The dishes and the beers are delicious. No comment on the value for money. Parking is complicated in the neighborhood, it is better to park the car on the other side of the city and just cross the bridge.

Brilliant. Excellent food, great location (it couldn't have been better), the portions are generous, the staff is polite and quick and one very important note for tourists; they speak English too.

Nice Grilled Haxe, juicy and nice flavor

Oh this was so good! I was a little skeptical as it is right in the touristy bit with all of the bars and restaurants but this was really quite a small little place and they specialised in Pork Knuckle, you can see them cooking as you walk past. It's also pretty reasonable as you get a huge amount of food. I had the Pork Knuckle with fries, although I should have done what my friends did and gotten the pan fried potatoes. The goulash that one of our party also got looked really good. Service was quite quick and the place got very busy while we ate. Great little place, right on the main strip.

Great German food for great prices!

Fantastic, lots of great meat options which all seemed equally delicious. We went during lunch hours on a weekend so there was enough space for us. Staff were friendly and the vibe was good!

Very tasty food, cheap and good ambiance

The food is a joke we had schnitzel.Don't!!! It's either to thick or to thin they serve it from under a red light so the fried schnitzel has a very dry crust. The place is filthy , I mean the toilet, really...well on the top of the stairs you smell the urine already and your shoes stick to the floor so if you do need to go there.... Don't look down

This has to be some of the best sauerkraut I have ever had in my life! The curry braut was SO good! The staff were so helpful, polite and patient with our horrible German. Don't forget the beer! Amazing! You must go to Schweine Janes!! Great food! Friendly staff. All very nice!

The pork knuckles doesn't taste as good as before. It's not bad but it's not seasoned properly. In the past I have seen the cook keep pouring the juices on the pork knuckles while roasting. Now I haven't seen them do that while I sat there for a small hour. It's a shame.

The food was absolutely divine; the pork hock especially was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food is reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again!

Good food

Overrated. I would say the food is a bit below average. Focus on quantity not quality. Push for drinks from the waitress. Cleanliness is not great, utensils were dirty as well as glasses, don't wanna know how clean were plates where our food was...

I got some recommended pork. The outside is crisp, the inside is juicy, there is nothing more. It was not as greasy as it looks.

Meat is great!

We had just finished a conference in Düsseldorf and we were hungry- the only thing that could satisfy our urges was crisp beer and pork knuckle. One of our party and spotted this spot during her exploration of the Altstadt and we made our way here.. and discovered a long line. It was raining, but we joined the line anyways. The restaurant is not huge, but they pack folks into booths and chairs. And then the folks pack pork into themselves. And then they pack you out. This spot is what it is- and the schweinshaxe is among the best I’ve had.

Delicious street food, right in the middle of lively city center. Been there for years and years.
